The Problem With Womanhood & the Minimal Wardrobe
Black and white are the colors that dominate my wardrobe, and have done so for the past 35 years. There is also denim and khaki and the off-white natural color of undyed cotton. Bits of purple on occasion. but there is no way it would fit, say, in a list of 100 things, even if I would prefer that it did.
The problem is weight fluctuation. Gain or lose more than 7 or 8 pounds, even in just water weight, your clothes will not fit comfortably. I have always kept fat and skinny clothes on hand, and many times skinny, fat, and fatter clothes.
To stop this madness requires staying within a 5-pound optimal range. I picked my healthiest weight and have been sticking to it for nearly a year now without being either more or less than 5 pounds of it. Jeans and lingerie sizes have remained consistent. Smaller and larger sized clothes have gone unworn.
Thus I have proved to myself it can be done–and maintained. The upcoming spring wardrobe cleanout is going to be unusually large.
