The Nesting Instinct
The urge to burrow is great. Or to nest
high above the troubling ground.
Fear of hurt, noise, lack of sleep, stolen food–
abrasive fear is cocooned away at home.
Pillows, curtains, rugs, slippers, blankets
fill the creviced framework
and are held there with glue of bread and tea.
Oh fear, go fear, here fear, i gather
and gather and gather and suffocate
under the weight of goods.
